Hello all,
I'm building my CUC and so far I have 5 nassarius snails and 6 blue leg hermits.
I'm adding some more nassarius and an Emerald crab this weekend. I've read that the crustaceans need Iodine to help with their molt. I use Coralife salt and can't find any info about Iodine content in this mix. Should I be dosing this element?
FYI... 20% water changes weekly
Future inhabitants:
Trochus or cerith snails, a few more hermits and possibly a conch
Fish plans are false perc, royal gramma, and cherub angel.
Also, if relevant, I do have a few mushroom polyps.

If you're doing water changes, there should be no need to worry about iodine. The inverts only need a trace amount, and that is going to be replenished by your water changes.

FWIW: Many of us are keeping our inverts alive, happy, and healthy with no extra supplementation of iodine.

I've read that the crustaceans need Iodine to help with their molt.

Yes they do but NOT from the water column but from food. Dosing Iodine and not knowing what the levels is can and will kill crustaceans. Excess Iodine drives them into excessive molt cycles. Meaning, they will go into molt, come out of molt and go right back into molt.
