I had two mantis shrimp, and decided to keep my tank food-free for three months. What are the chances the mantis shrimp are dead? I have seen no sign of them (visibly or audibly) for months. But, at the same time, a purple lobster I have HAS survived. Is it possible the lobster ate them?

Why did you keep your tank food free? I don't think they could have lived without food for 3 months. But hey, anythings possible.

I kept it food-free because I wanted to starve out the mantis shrimp. All I had was LR (that's how I got the mantis shrimp in the first place), and a purple lobster.

They easily could have survived eating the micro-fauna in the live rock.
