Joe's "official" 120 reef picture thread

Hi all. I had a couple of older threads that had some pictures and listed some of my crash info last summer. I started again and the tank is at about the 9 month mark. I cleaned the tank today and scraped coraline algae from the rear glass etc. I thought it appropriate to start a new thread that I can use to group all future pictures in. The tank is a standard 120 with 2 175 watt Iwasaki's and 2 55 watt T5's ( Blue plus ). Here are the pictures from today. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best. All of the SPS were added as tiny 1/2 " to 1" frags. Growth has been moderate IMO.

I almost forgot to add a shot of my Derasa. I am proud of it because it is one of the only survivors from my previous attempt at a reef. The Derasa is about 8 years old ( with me ).

Thanks for the comments. The camera is just a Sony digital point and shoot 7.2 MP DSC-H5. I appreciate the picture comment. I struggle with taking good pictures and have been playing with the camera settings.

It has been a little while and I think it is time for an update.
I changed my lighting in early December from 2 X 175 watt halides and T5 supps to an 8 X 54 watt Tek T5 fixture. I am happy with the response by the corals so far but I am having a difficult time truly representing the look of the tank in pictures. Here are a few pictures from today during the dawn hours of the lighting.

Full lighting is 5 Blue Plus, 2 Purple Plus, and 1 GE 6500
The pics are taken under dusk/dawn using 3 Blue Plus and 1 Purple Plus

Thanks. I dose homemade two part manually every day. Tomorrow I begin to automate dosing as I have two of Bulk Reef Supply 1.1 ml dosers arriving tomorrow! Excited to hook them up!

Awesome tank!! How big has the clam grown. I think you said it was around 12 inches about a year or so ago. Also what type of tang is that in there? Not the bule hippo but the dark one?? Kinda looks like my lavender tang and since i dont see them too often i was curious. Awesome job, I just added 4 more t5s to the 4 I had on my 125. I thought I was getting good growth rates but after seeing your progression its not even close. Hopefully the added light will boost things! Well done
