I would hold off on jumping into automated dosing until you have some SPS or LPS corals. At this point, I doubt you are using any more alk and calc than the salt is providing. You can get a manual dosing kit from bulk reef supply with everything you need to do daily doses yourself. Doing it this way will teach you your tanks usage levels and prevent mistakes. Later on when you need to spread out your doses you can pick up some dosing pumps go automated.

If you really want to spend the money now bulk reef supply has good pumps at a reasonable price. How were you planning on controlling them?

Good advice above.

If you go automated, I use a GHL Profilux 4 channel doser. It's a nice piece of equipment. I dose with ESV Alkalinity, Calcium, and Magnesium, and Brightwells Potassium. This doser allows you to schedule the dosings, or just set the amount and it will dose on it's own, and space them apart so no 2 elements are dosed too close to each other. I have mine set for Alk, heavier in the evening, to help keep the pH up a little when the lights are off, and the rest it figures out. On the other 3 I just tell it how many times per day to dose and how many ml per dose.

Here are a couple of old pics from my previous tank, I'm using the same doser, but different containers now. I don't know if the pics help but you asked for them :)

wow thanks guys for the helpful advice! i really like that setup. ive seen it before but didnt know the name of the equipment. (thats why i needed the picture) thank you guys. i do agree with you that i should learn first by manually dosing to get a better idea of what im dumping into my tank to have everything thriving. i was thinking of buying the stuff that i need to dose and do it all manually while saving up to make the purchase of the equipment to do it for me. this way i get a better understanding and the learning experience.

I could never got my dosing correctly until I got myself a Bubble Magnus BM-T01 dosing pump. It got great reviews and very accurate. If you got the money to shell out, you won't be disappointed, it's set and forget. I dose Alk, Ca and Mag from BRS recipe 1. But if you're only doing softies, you wouldn't have to worry about dosing supplements until you get in SPS and LPS

+1 I use a 7 BM doser with Balling salts . I have used these cheapo containers from the $1 store but have an acrylic container from China now .
Like others have said the tank should be fine with just water changes with soft corals .

I'm not sure from the pic how many of the 7 you are using. What are you dosing?

GHL Profilux 4 channel doser

I am pretty sure someone local to me still has one for sale. LMK if your interested and I will see if he still has it. (he is no longer using these forums). Was a killer price. I almost jumped on it... even though I have no use for it right now. Its an incredible doser.

Only using 3 atm . ECO balling salts . I add NF metals once a week 5 ml manually .

Calcium Plus , Alk and Magnesium . 20 ml a day . 5 gallon water changes 2 times a month of RSCP .

The tank is in the process of being broken down but the units will be on the new build .
When the new build is done . I will adding vodka
Strontium
NF metals
Kalkwasser .

So all will be used soon .

It is Ling Sy's version of Balling minus the vodka .
