ID Please: Queen or Blue Angel? - PICS

it was sold to me as a queen angel, but another LFS owner told me it's a blue angel. any input?

IIRC queens a have more "curled" stripes, blue angels are more strait but I don't really know.

a queen, the middle line does have a curve to it...it would be totally straight in a blue...but, it might be a Townsend...a cross of a blue and queen...

thanks for the info. i didn't know that they hybridize. i'm starting to think that mine is a Townsend; i don't think it's a true blue angel. i guess we shall see once it starts to change. :p

that remains reliable until the bars disappear. In the blue angelfish this
bar is straight (on the body) while that of the queen angelfish is distinctly

Townsends are fairly rare, Feddern found 187 blues, 87 queens, and only 40 townsends in the one survey off Florida.
