Bacteria bloom question

Ok so based on your experiences how long after you did a large water change due to a bacteria bloom did it take to get clear water again? And is it good or bad to run the carbon reactor right after the water change?

half day or so you will notice a change. yes run carbon. crank up the skimmer

Ok cool. Yeah I noticed after the water change the skimmer bubbles were breaking waaay lower than before but I didn't adjust bc I don't want to come home from work with the head bubbling over with water. Keeping fingers crossed that water is clear when I get home though! :/ sigh...
