For some time I had trouble keeping snails alive... they didn't die suddenly, but after a month or so they were done. I check and checked my water params and everything seemed fine.
Not putting two and two together I decided to try a pair of cleaner shrimp. They too died after only a couple of weeks. :o
Anyway... I decided to do a bit of an overhaul, re-scape, and vacuum the sand good. Got it all done and about two weeks after getting it back together I found a soda can tab and a DIME in a spot with flow hitting the sand a bit. :furious:
It looked like it had been in there for quite some time. If I only knew what child decided to use my reef as a wishing well I would so -----> :deadhorse: (Which in this case means beat them to death.)
:headwally:
Since it's removal and a couple of good water changes I''m glad to say that some new Turbo snails are doing really well. I'll be running carbon for a while before adding anything like shrimp... and testing their viability by using a cheap peppermint. *sigh*
Live and learn right...
