What kinds of things do you do to keep your sump quiet? Looking to find a high quality skimmer that is not loud, and return pump....Maybe internal return to dampen noise? Doing LEDs so not much heat added to tank...
TIA

Internal pumps are quieter than external and if you have LED lighting, the heat from internal pumps should not be an issue. What size tank do you have? There are some very quiet skimmers available depending on tank size.

I have an Eheim return pump which is very quiet--I put it on a thin mouse pad in my sump so it makes it ever quieter. My Bubble Magus protein skimmer is pretty quiet, but I also had to put it on a stand which is also on a mouse pad, so again that helps with the noise.

I used accoustibloc on my stand and canopy for noise isolation. It is very quiet. Everyone that has be en over to see remarked on how quiet it was.

I have a eheim return pump. I placed it on one of those silicone pot holder squares. Works for me.

Good ideas! So just any rubber type material that won't decompose or leech into the water u guess? Guessing it was a mouse pad that didn't have any anti slide sticky stuff on the back?
