What is this Blob?

Any idea what this is. It just appeared a few months ago. Now I have about 4 of them in the tank. To me it looks like a filementous hairy blob.

I sure don't want this stuff taking over. It looks like something that's been left in the fridge for a year or so.

I had something that looked similar. I think I decided what I had was cotton candy algae. Here is a sight that has some pictures of it or try google imaging the term and see if anything pops up that looks like yours.

Looks like cotton candy algae to me too. Mexican turbo snails ate all of mine.
