is this rock man made or natural and how porous and lightweight is it?

It is porous enough, that a 5 pounds rock takes on 4 pounds of water. Soaked in to it. You will be happy with the volume of rock you receive. At only one pound per gal. works out will for most every body.

You're saying that a 5 lb. rock, holds a 1/2 gallon of water!

This post is in responce to how much water some of our rock can retain. To answer how porous the rock is.. So I ran a test and photographed it... And the rock held more, then I claimed.... Testing all three types of rock we sell... Here's pictures of the our worm rock on the scale wet and then dry.. The same rock... Will post pictures of the other two types of rock as soon as they dry.. A few days...
