Been noticing these white egg looking things on my back glass. Some look empty like they hatched I also have a lot of small white snails everywhere are they bad should I kill the eggs or try to pick snails out? No corals or anything seem damaged. I do see some small sundial or baby turbo snails also hard to tell Might be impossible to rid tank of all of them.

I have Nerite snails in my nano, their eggs look just like that... Are about the size of a sesame seed?

:)as long as you don't mind your tank looking like a kaiser roll/burger bun, just leave them be, because as soon as you scrape them off they'll be back by morning:(

Edit: I do clean the front glass with a mag-float, they come off fairly easily.

Can't tell for sure from the angle of the pics, but does look like Nerite snail eggs. Nothing to worry about, and they won't hatch.

As for seeing small sundial snails, those are probably collonista snails. Also harmless. Sundial snails are much flatter, google them to see the difference.

Thanks for the quick replies I won't worry about them not damaging anything

I am getting the same things! But why won't they hatch? I have a bunch of tiny nerite snails and it would be nice to see them reproduce

They require brackish/tidal conditions to hatch. Nerites are tidal snails. That's also why they like to hang out at the top of your tank often, they're looking for low tide.

These are nerites I took a pic of on an island.

No problem. Everyone thought I was strange when I took that pic, but I had 3 tanks going at the time. Oh, and the chitons on that island were HUGE. Bigger than my hand. I took pics of them too!

Chitons! Pretty much living fossils right? I saw some magnificent ones on an island off the great barrier reef, and thought they were actual fossils. Wasn't til later that I found out they were still alive. Any word on if they're a good idea for a reef tank?

Most chitons are fine in a tank. I've had a few as hitchhikers in the past that ate algae. I haven't been lucky this time around.

This wasn't the largest one, but it was the only one I could get to for a size comparison. Pardon the chiton poop!
