Well, I have spent some time correcting my early going mistakes with this new hobby. Have a ways to go, but finally finding some balance. I had a 55 gal setup that I mirrored a fresh water setup. I have since built a new stand and enclosure, purchased a skimmer, working towards a sump and refugium setup, and fortunately have been blessed with stable water parameters thus far.
I asked a question in another thread about drilling an existing tank. IS this possible? I would have drilled mine before I set it back up, but time was an issue with me. (wife said I have to have it finished before Thanksgiving)
I will also be calling on you guys to help me with the sump/refug.
My plans are to have the tank feed the sump below, then pump to the tank and also to the refuge tank which will be above the display, Then it will feed back to display. Does this sound like a good idea? From what I gather the flow thru the fuge needs to be slower than the sump. Looking at doing a 30 gal sump and a 10 gal refugium. I am a diy person so not afraid to tackle these things. I have attached 2 pics of progress so far. I have not finished the trim as of yet but will upload those over the next few days. PS, fishes are doing fine with the move.
