Gold Head Gobies in QT

I'm about to move my only remaining fish to QT to run my DT fallow for a couple months to get rid of ich. I have a pair of Gold Head Gobies (Dig and Doug) and am wondering if it is too stressful/mean to put them in a bare bottom QT. Should I add sand knowing it will be tainted with copper forever? I'd rather not, but I don't want to lose these guys to stress.

You could use some cheap silica sand to make them more comfortable. It would only cost a few bucks, so it's no big deal when it comes time to toss it out.
