Nano Cube Light question... Time on?

I just bought a replacment power supply and wired it up for a Nano 24g 36w cube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiMpKbHtxgo ). I got the cube for under $40 and they only had freshwater fish in it but could not find the org. power supply.

Anyhow, my main question was how long do you leave the lights on when cycling and when it is up an fully running?

I usually do 8 hours a day daylight, not sure about lunar as I've never done lunar.

Thanks, this is an older hood without the lunar lights so I wont have those ether.
