Hi all,
For some time now this red carpet style algae grown on most of my live rock.
This was a result of a major disaster. (was on holiday - had an electrical failure - most equipment stopped - auto top-up stopped).
The R/O guy was on holiday and my ONLY option was to top up with tap water and try to keep as much as my livestock alive for a week or so until the R/O maintenance and new return pump arrived. At the end only the fish made it...:furious:
Anw, after that im still struggling to lower all nutrients in the tank - cos i beleave this is the major issue
I run rowaphos and i change every 3 - 4 max weeks.
I run a skimmer and i also have chaeto.
Any idea how to fight this thing.
Its not hairy style algae - not like cyano either.
its a red dusty - carpet style algae
some parts of the rocks started to clean but in a very slow pace
What actions should i follow.
Shall i switch off my lights completely (i have lower the photoperiod quite a lot)
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
MANY THANKS.
