Thinking swapping the Barracuda to something smaller since I'm valving back anyways and maybe save a couple of watts.

Got a new Velocity T4 haven't even got wet but the BH1450 has me interested. Looking to stay around 1000gph, plumbing run is about 12' horizontal, 9' vertical, in 1.5" line with the last bit in the display reduced to 1".

Thoughts?

I own a T4 & I doubt you will get anywhere close to 1000 gph with that head pressure. I think at 6 ish vertical they are in the 900-1000 gph area.

The velocity's are excellent pumps, completely silent!! However if the blowhole pushed more water you might be happier with that option. They have also caught my eye....

I am considering the blowhole as well. I really like the variable speed option and that its a mag drive pump, no seals to go out like the other reeflo pumps. Please let us now how it performs for you if you get one.

two things...#1 you can always cut the watts and flow on our pumps by switching to a smaller impeller...smaller impeller=less drag on motor=less watts...a Goby impeller on the Barracuda would cust watts 9and flow) by about 1/3...second based on the feedback from our field testers, the BlowHole pumps are silent and thjey are available at Premium Aq
