Hi all. I just placed an order for the Cadlights Artisan 50G cube that measure 24x24x20 and I have a Vortech laying around and wanted to use it for my new tank. Would this be a good option or is it too powerful even at the lowest setting and will cause sandstorm in my tank?

I think a mp40 is perfect for that size tank. I like flow though. I have my mp10 on 90ish% in my 33 gallon cube.

You can use an MP40 on there, but it will probably be scaled almost all the way back. I think on the lowest setting it is good for 500GPH, so it will all depend how much flow you need.

Should be fine on there.

+1, should be fine. I have an MP10 at 80% on my 28g, the adjustability of the MP40 is good enough so that you can tailor it to suit your 50g.

Agreed you will be fine. i run a mp40 on a 60 gallon cube set wide open on short pulse mode with a koralia 4 running along side of it and it doesn't move my special grade reef sand at all. They move a lot of water but it is a very gentle current.
