I am buying a fellow reefers tank and I am looking for an id. This picture is about 4to months old and it is now about 1'across.

Also does anyone know the going rate of these? I am going to keep most of his corals but this would not fit in my tank.

Thanks.

Amplexidiscus fenstrafer, Giant Cup Mushroom.
A foot across is a medium size on those. Mine was 18 inches at its largest. If you find the right buyer, a mushroom lover with a large tank who is willing to risk it eating their fish one that size could go for over $50, but they have a deserved reputation as fish eaters so buyers are scarce.

Mine at about 16inches. The distinguising feature between Amplexidiscus and the large Rhodactus elephant ears is the band about an inch in from the outer edge where there are no tentacles.

Thank you for all the info.

I will try to find someone who has a good home for it. I kind of wish I could keep it but a fully stocked 70 with slow fish would not work out well. :)

Mine ate fish when it was smaller. Stopped eating them when it got to be 16". Now the EM is about 24" and has stopped growing. I just wish the dang thing would splitor have a few babies. Cool neon green color.
