I also have this thread in reef chemistry, but dont have a definitive answer yet. Are there minerals in the abc+ that are not the three part? This sentence "This unique powder supplement simplifies the daily dosing of more than just the foundation element" makes it confusing. (At least to me)
Also as I have a new tank with primarily base rock, would the use of nopox or vinegar inhibit the growth of corraline algae Im pretty sure it utilizes primarily calcium, but I dont know what else it uses?

Hello,
Reef Foundation ABC+ Contains all of Foundation A, B& C ingredients in addition to Potassium, Boron, Iodine, and Bromine. (Reef Colors A+B)
It’s formulated in the exact ratio as found in the coral skeleton. Although there are slight differences between the coral species, the mean ratio between these elements is fairly constant.
Supplementing all of these elements in a fixed ratio according to the uptake of calcium will ensure an accurate replenishment based on the metabolic demands of the corals.
This supplement is targeted for well established tanks, that have constant uptake ratio.
You should not use Reef Foundation ABC+ to make periodic adjustments to one of the foundation Elements.
If over time an imbalance may occurs between the foundation elements, make adjustments with the individual A, B & C supplements.
Prior to using ABC+, you should elevate the foundation elements to the desired levels using the individual A, B & C supplements, and compensate with ABC+ for the corals uptake.
* Only supplement the elements included in Coral Colors A & B according to measured uptake of iodine and potassium.
**Reef Foundation ABC+ should be added directly to the sump and not dissolved in top-off water.
***Do not use Reef Foundation ABC+ to make periodic adjustments to the calcium level.
****Do not add more than 60g of Foundation ABC+ at one time to any system irrespective of size. Larger doses can be added in 10 minute intervals between spoons to allow the powder to dissolve without causing precipitation.
Hope I helped.
Good luck,
Aviad

So then do yo also have to dose a and b reef colors to a target level before using foundation abc+?

Hi,
You can test and adjust them even after you supplement ABC+.
The note was made for people who supplement the Reef Colors according to the Calcium uptake.
Supplementing Colors A + B needs to be done according to specific measurements of the leading element(I, K).
Hope I helped,
