Are these things loud? Not the water flow so much but the air intake. I've been looking at the MINI-G or the G1 for Christmas.

As far as air intake goes, no they are not loud. I can't hear mine sitting a couple feet away from it. But i have an oversized pump on mine, and i can hear it humming. I think if i had the proper pump, it would be quieter.

Did you have to put any sort of muffler on the air intake tube? Maybe some cotton in the airline?

Annoying hum but if you do the mods I posted in the thread below it is very quiet.
