I went to your website and got overwhelmed with the option of the LED DIY kits. Especially the add ons. Not sure what they mean or what I need to get the most bang for the buck.

I have a 300 gallon tank 30" deep_ 24" high _400 watt MH. Want to grow SPS

Looking at the 48 cree XP-E kit

Would like it to be dimmable, fan cooled, not sure about the high noon options, Don't know how many blue LED or white I need. Etc.. Any help sorting through would be great.

Thanks in advance!

We chose the Al Carte for our kits to give you ultimate flexibility in your build.

Our Phoenix Kits are almost complete less 20Ga solid wire and a Fan. We chose only the best bins and mix of LEDs for the Reef. The Royal Blue id Bin D316 and the Cool White is 7-7.5K not the more yellow Cool White more commonly offered.

The Phoenix 45 is solderless and the the rough equivelent to a 250-400 watt MH based on our PAR measurements. The Phoenix 55 added the High Noon and is a bit more than most 400 Watt MH. They both will cover an area about 24"x36" with around 150-200 PAR at the sand bed depending on height. Housings will be available for these shortly. For a high end option these offer the best bang for the buck. You would need two or three of these depending on how many MH you want to replace.

If your on a budget and dont mind a little less efficiency and colour pop, our kits with the Regular LEDs are an excellent value. These you need a heatsink, driver, and fan. Optics help and quality ones like the Carclo are highly recommended. the focus the light where you want it to improve efficiency but can be added later. Here is a link to one of our facts pages which will help you decide.

Yeap that what I needed. What about the color of the LED's. How do you go about picking the white and the blue. Half and half?

The chart wont copy paste over into the forum but if you look at

the first chart will break down the ratios for color balancing.

OK reefLED...I am a friend of Ramses66 and want to do this as well. I have a standard 6 foot long 220 gallon with 3 250 halides. From your post earlier i am under the impression that 2 phoenix 45`s would replace my 3 MH?

The Phoenix 45 is the rough equivalent to a 250-400 watt MH. Your coverage would be about 36"x24". If your running 3 250 watt MH two 45s would be close to the PAR Depending on the Bulb and reflector your currently using. If your Running 3 10K XMs with an efficient reflector 2 45s will be slightly less in PAR three would be more.

Most with your tank go with three Phoenix 45s on an 18" Heatsink. One problem with the a standard 6 foot tank are the two center braces. Three 18" fixtures work well when centered between these openings.
