Two close friends with 65 years of management experience between them decided that they could be very successful if the partnered up in a business. Why retire when you can re-fire the rockets. Pretty crazy starting a business in this economy, right? They thought the same thing, so the first criteria was it had to be fun and just flat out admit that they were insane.
They had numerous directions they could take with the experience they shared but they decided that Ron Howard’s 25-year management experience as the head of some of the largest aquarium supply companies in the aquarium industry would be the most valuable asset to capitalize upon and integrate with Larry Muller’s 35 plus years of senior logistics management in industries that ranged form general construction, real estate development, manufacturing, investment banking and directing IT for non-profits.
You probably have a product in your aquarium that has come from one of the companies that Ron has managed. Ron knows the aquarium industry inside and out. He led those companies to the next level by offering you great enjoyable products that proved profitable for distributors and retailers. It’s our vision to make Reef Insane one of the most respected aquarium supply wholesalers in the industry by using the same principal. Our goal is to have you say “That’s insane!” (unbelievably good) when you see our products in use. We also deliberately want to be your fun company of choice.
To achieve our vision however we must earn your business one sale at a time. We would love to demonstrate the product personally, have every aquarium retailer in the country carry our products and have all the pet distributors represent our product line but that comes only by investing the time and constantly doing things right. Give us a little time, it will happen.
We have the time and the commitment to take those steps. We also are going to enjoy the process. To begin being your fun company of choice we thought we would give you something to enjoy. We have a lot of stores to visit. The spectrum of stores is all over the place, as you already know, kind of like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. They each will have their special story, a great idea, great photo or a funny story. We hope to document that on Facebook, Twitter, Flicker and here at Reef Central. Consider it the Reef Insane Reality journal on starting an aquarium supply wholesale company. We are going to have fun and we hope you will too.
