Hello everyone,

Another chemistry question here.
I want to mix brs Sodium Bicarbonate in a two gallons glass container and slowly drip it into my tank through the use of a doser. This would last me around 1.5 -2 months. So I was wondering if the mixed alk would still be as good and as potent 1.5-2 months after I first mixed them.

Thanks alot.

No problem. You might get a little bit of settling or precipitation in the alk solution, but it will only cause a tiny change in the real potency.

So this mean if I take a spoon and stir up the alk once a day and mix up those settling on the bottom, then after 1.5-2 months, the remaining alk is just as good as the newly mixed alk?

Great thanks

I wouldn't bother to stir it. Just dose the liquid. The solutions never go bad.

If it gets cold, you may precipitate some of it, but warming it will redissolve it if that happens A little insoluble matter may be in them, but that is of no concern.
