what kind of setup do you have? tank size? reef or fo? lighting?
that will help with deciding on your light length.. although its entirely up to you. I have my actinics come on an hour before my daylights.. run 10 hours then actinics on an hour after days turn off.. this works for my system and my corals :)

off to a good start by asking questions!! :D
I agree that you will need more LR and soon to help with your cycle.. otherwise you may start a new cycle when you add more rock...
to start.. I would do LOTS OF RESEARCH before jumping fully in!!! Research and Patience are going to be your BEST friends (along with us :lol2: and asking questions) during the beginning of a tank!!!
Here are some great informative links to get you started!!!

Is that a four bulb T5 light?
If so I would go to at least 6-7 hours.

T5 are thin florecent bulbs.
I would imagine there's 2 bluish(actinic)bulbs and 2 white(probably 10K).
You should have blue on first for like an hour for dawn.
Then all 4 for like 7-8 hrs.
Then blue again for an hour for dusk effect.
