Somewhat new 6 week old toadstool seems happy with PE last few days but I've noticed some edge recession of the polyps it appears and has gotten a bit worse in the last few days....any thoughts. Thanks

You can see on the lower left corner what I'm talking about. It's also on a few other edges very small just starting.

It looks stressed. Is anything touching it or bumping into it? leathers can be sensitive to other corals, fish, rock, etc. touching them. The rest of the coral appears to have good polyp extension, which leads me to believe it has been touching another coral on those spots. Thats how my devils hand reacts when an sps frag come into contact with it.

Another possibility would be chemical warfare. Are you running carbon? If not it may be a good idea.

A list of your parameters could provide some insight as well.

Yea now that you say it, that area doesnt appear to be really receeding just closed up with no PE. Although there are no sps or other corals near it. Only thing touching that would be crabs or snails.

Have you recently added anything?

Are you running carbon?

And how about those parameters?
