Hello I'm not that new to the hobby, well it has been 7 years since I had nano reef. I have a 120 gallon 4x2x2 that was a discus tank but to much work and fish died of a real bad fluke infestation so with the blessing of the wife I'm going salt. My goal for the first year is to have nice rock work and have it fish only( not big fish ) unit I can afford some led lights and a better protein skimmer. My equipment list is D.A.S EX-1 recirculating skimmer, DIY recirculating biopellet reactor(like the reef dynamic brand),MD20RLXT pump. Also a 20 gallon sump, I know that a bigger sump is better but gong berlin style and regular weekly water changes of 30 gallons. Water changes are no big deal to me because I was doing 60% water changes every other day when it had discus in it.
So to the turn over rate question, can I get away with my current pump I have or do I add another. Maybe one bigger one? I don't want to run a chiller.
