CF in an aluminium reflector from home depot. Total cost about $20.

I got a 6500k bulb at home depot to put in a fixture I already had - $8 :D
There are better lights, but it was super cheap and it grows prolifera just fine.
What kind of macro? How much space do you have? Have any fixtures lying around you could use?

I use that system for my sump, but the other day I saw a light that mounted to the side of the sump. No salt creep. If I only had lots of money instead of lots of children.

I only have about 6in in height for clearance from the top of the stand and the top of sump its very cramped in there.

I use a 24" coralife aqualight t5 fixture on my hob fuge. I picked it out because its only like 1-1.5" tall and really light. The stock bulbs for the freshwater model do just fine for chaeto.
You might be able to find them on the cheap due to high output models are more popular. Even ebay has some on there.

HD with a 6500K bulb grows chaeto like the weeds they are.

Look at some of the under cabinet lighting, it has a very shallow profile. Downside it that most of it is around 3000k and not even acceptable for growing vegetation. before buying check if daylight bulbs are available for the fixture.
