My in-laws are finally leaving the downstairs portion of our house in the coming months so that means it's time to upgrade my 55. I'm thinking about the 300 range and wanted some ideas and suggestions.

First off, here's a shot of where I'd like to put it. The entire kitchen area and fridge would be removed since it's no needed. I wanted to put the tank from the fridge to the window. If you notice, there's a ledge behind the sink that can't be removed because there's a concrete wall behind it. The distance from the corner wall of the fridge and the concrete wall behind the sink is about 93" so that makes a 300 gallon just a bit too big.

So I thought about putting the tank on that ledge itself and using that the top part of my stand. The tank would fit nicely with plenty of room to spare. The only problem is that the top of the stand would be 46", a little taller than I wanted. That would put the top of the tank at 70".

Here's a frontal shot. The dryer duct would also be removed since we plan to move the washer and dryer to the garage.

I'd love to put the tank there because I wouldn't know what else to put there. I think it's perfect.

Now picture this. When you walk through the front door of my house you are on a landing. You have six steps to go to the top part of our house and 6 steps to go down to the lower part. As you descend to go to the lower part this is your view.

Behind that wall would be the tank. I was thinking about making some kind of porthole here so that you could look through the side of the tank as you went downstairs.

When all is said and done, I'd like to be able to somehow cover the front of the tank so that it looks like it's built into the wall. I'm thinking about some kind of roller tracks on the ceiling or something Not sure yet.

The filtration system wouldn't be under the tank. I'd likely put it in my fish room. The wall on the left of this picture is the wall you see when walking down the stairs and where I'd like to put the porthole. The fish room is behind the wall in the middle of the picture where the outlets are.

Thoughts?

I'd enclose that kitchen area with a false wall, put the tank in the opening, and have a fish room. Maybe leave the sink/counter for workspace/storage.

I already have a fish room.

The tank will go in that opening, under the dryer duct. The dryer duct will be removed since we are moving the washer/dryer. I'd like to put a faux wall in front of the tank to make it look like it's built in to the wall. The filtration will be in the fish room which is located in the wall behind where this picture was taken.

All the kitchen cabinets run along the same wall. The cabinets will be removed. I plan to run a drain line a return line along the wall/floor somehow. The drain line will run from lef to right in the pic, the return line from right to left. The fish room is on the other side of the wall by the big, tall pantry in this picture.

And some shots of the fish room.

Nice fish room.

I was thinking parallel to the countertop/sink/stove but even with the wall the fridge is next to(not sure if that came across in my original).
