i have a jbj 28g nano cube and have had a problem with phosphates. So i decided to purchase a next reef phosphate reactor which can two days ago. i hooked it up early this morning . my question is when a looked at my tank a couple of hours later most of my corals seemed like they had opened so much more. does the reactor start to work the quick?

On a 28G tank with phosphate problem given you've put sufficient flow through the reactor, it may clear the water in less than an hour. Think of it this way: if you put 50G/ hour of flow through the reactor, you will have run somewhere close to your tank's full volume through that thing in 2 hours. Given that GFO media is very efficient, it is possible to rid the tank of phosphates in this short of time. However, I have not heard of immediate impact on polyp extension- must be nutrient deficiency that makes polyps extend. You don't want to run any chemical down in your tank that quick- even the most harmful.
