I just set up a 200 gal tank and passed most of my corals from my previous 60gal tank. It currently has a 50gal sump with a Reef Octopuss skimmer (NWB-250) and chaeto. I only have a Purple and a Yellow Tang in it, relatively small. I light the tank about 5 days ago with Tek light 8bulbs x 54 watts each (8.5 hours cycle). Thing is for the last two days I am having an algae bloom in some of the live rock. I thought it was diatoms but not quite sure they grow to look like a brown hair algae. My hermits and turbo snail seem to like it.

What algae is this? Should I worry or will eventually goes as the tank matures? Should I buy something like Algae fix in the meantime?

Here is a picture. I appreciate any help you can provide me.

I had something similar lately. I put a filter sock on my drain line and blow it off the rock with a spare power head. Once the water clears, I take the filter sock out.

I also had similar algae when I set up my new tank, I bought a yellow and power blue tang. And they ate all the algae after couple days.
