stop dosing vinegar with SS kalk?

Hi All

I am currently dosing about 10ml of vinegar per day and I will be starting to add Kalk so I don't have to add 2 part. I want to use super saturated kalk as my kalk container is small and I don't want to have to fill it every few days. So I will be adding 3tsp kalk + 45ml vinegar per gallon of RODI water, right?

My question is (finally), should I stop the direct vinegar dosing due to the vinegar in the kalk water?

Yes stop.
At 45ml per gallon of top off water with say 2 gallons of top off per day you will be bumping your vinegar dose from 10ml to 90ml. Personally I'd start lower with about 12 ml per per gallon of kalk water( even then you'll be increasing the vinegar dosed to your tank from 10ml per day to around 24ml per day assumoing 2 galloons of top off) and only increase the kalk powder by 9%, instead of from 2 to three tsps per gallon to only 2.1tsps p per gallon. Then see if your tank can use more vinegar without bacterial blooms and bring it up slowly . If so you can increase he kalk powder dose up to 2.76 tsps with 48ml of vinegar.

Are you going to add it 24/7? If you were planning to dose only at night, I'd change that to daytime or 24/7. :)
