I am getting a MP10 pump and would like to get some recommendations on where to place it in my tank. Additionally, I have return flow at the top of my tank from the canister filter, skimmer and auqafuge.

On either the R or the L side, blowing sideways across the rock. You'll likely find that 6 inches below the water surface is ideal to create flow and produce a good undercurrent without disturbing the sand bed. You can put it as low as you want as long as it does not disturb the sandbed (this will depend on how much you turn up the power on your MP10 and also how close it is to the sandbed). You are going to love that thing!!

Even with this being a column tank, 6 inches below water surface is good?

Tank height is 24 inches.

Tank height is 24 inches.

Given that it is 24 inches deep, you are likely going to want it lower. There really is no set distance below the surface of above the sand bed, per se. You are going to want it high enough so that it is not blasting into the side of your live rock which would block its flow but you don't want it so high that it is not creating a good undertoe.

You are going to have many different options given that you can vary power output, height and lateral positioning of the MP10 so when you get it, experiment with these different variables.

I will try middle right side slightly closer to the back. There is some open space behind the LR. Looking forward to the different modes to choose.

The mode that seems to be the most popular is Reef Crest from when I looked at posts in the past. It is the one I use and have really liked it.

I would have to second the reef crest mode. I set it on lagoon at night. I just got an MP10 recently and haven't been disappointed - it rocks

With only 1, will I need to max it out on my 56 column?

How do I set to reef crest mode? The included quick start guide does not explain how to get to it.

Reef crest mode is the yellow light with the first two blue lights illuminated. You can switch the different light colors by hitting the mode button (far left if you are facing the controller). I would suggest downloading the full user manuel on their website. I did that and it helped fill in all the things that weren't explained in the quick start guide.

Thanks. Got it up and going. Just waiting to set the Night Mode time and settings.
