This would most likely be a drive unit issue, if the drive unit (prop assembly) has not been changed in 4 years or more, or is the oldest 6080.600 version, it will likely be solved by replacing it with 6100.700. Calcium deposits seizing the bearing 3000.610 to the magnet or inverting the 3000.612 o ring so it is above the 3000.610 bearing can also cause this, as can a loose 3000.620 bushing. The only electrical issue that can cause this intermittent operation is water damage to the driver or overheating of the motor due to a long seized operation, neither is repairable. I would try another drive unit, being sure to move over all parts if you take it from another pump for testing.

The oldest compatible model would be 7240.260 which was from 2002-2005, 7240.270 was the last model. Anything before 7240.260 would be unsuitable.
