Deciding on top mount filtration (help)

I have searched high and low on this site, but i dont even know name brands of filtration units. Im looking for something affordable, and not as extreme as under tank sumps. Any links or threads that will help me, please share. Also where can i find links on purple reef lobsters.....

If you don't have a sump then you are limited to two types, Hang on back HOB or a canister filter. You didn't say what size your tank is, so I will just throw out some filters I like. The AC 110 is a great hang on back and my XP4 is a great canister filter.

Im sorry, I have a 55gal and a sand bottom about 1-1.5 deep. Thanks, ill look into thoes madels
