I've had this guy a couple of months and he's seemed happy (won't say it) where I placed him. This morning something looked odd, I noticed he had scooted about 3" forward and left this behind. It was NOT attached in any way to the clam and only attached to the rocks by a couple of threads.
The second pic is of the clam afterwards. looks fine to me. The back / bottom of the clam is smooth now, nothing sticking out. What happened?

Same place, just a couple inches back and I've not yet checked to see if it's reattached. I'll give it a day or two. Seems fine. good extension and reactive to light. I haven't seen it try to move.

has it attached where it is now?

It still has not. I lifted it today and found it was making no attempt to attach. still seems quite healthy though.

put him up in the rocks, steady, high light, not a lotta flow.
