So the solenoid I used for my gravity fed ATO crapped out a couple of weeks ago. I decided I'd do the manual top off thing until I could afford a dosing pump. I rigged a 5 gallon bucket with a ball valve and connected it via ice maker tubing to the sump. I've been manually topping off the tank and while it was a pain, it wasn't so bad. But guess what? I opened the valve tonight, went to let the dog out, and forgot about the top-off. I blame the dog! 4 gallons of saturated kalk was added to the sump. There's a blizzard happening right now.

The dosing pump is now on order. In the mean time, is there anything I can do but wait for the storm to stop?

Thanks for the link. I'm so PO'd at myself. I should have just got a dosing pump when the top off solenoid failed. I had planned to upgrade anyway. Just proves putting off needed upgrades is not a good policy.
