Wanting to put a small 3" fan in my hood. Wondering how to wire it up. Heard some have used an old cell phone charger. Any opinions? Pictures always help me!
Thanks

If it is a DC fan (computer case type) then go out and buy a DC converter (best buy, radio shack). Usually you can get a generic one that will let you change voltage and polarity to match what you want. What I would do it cut the end off and hardwire the leads directly to the fan leads. Use wirenuts and wrap in electrical tape when done.

I wired dual 120mm fans in my hood with a 12 volt radio shack power supply. Fans are rated at .38 amps each, power supply is rated at 1 amp. The radio shack power supply would run the fans, but not start them. I had to spin the fans, then power them up. I traded the radio shack power supply for an old monitor power supply. 12 volts and 3 amps. Works perfect.
