Just a quick LED thought

Ok so I've been thinking about going to LEDs lately and a thought acured to me.
What about using end glow fiber? Has anyone tried using it?

I would think that you would need a ton of that stuff. While you might be able to find some stuff that put out some light, I don't think it would ever be enough for a reef.

Thanks for your reply drew. I guess it would depend on how far your fixture is from your LED. And I believe I've seen 100 ft spools that are an 1/8 in diameter on eBay. I just don't know how much light I would loose by running it through fiber?
