So im planning to add DI unit to my existing RO unit at home for drinking. I do have questions before i order anything.

Here is a photo i borrowed that is the same as my home RO system right now

Should i add a "T" to where the yellow tubing is after RO and before the reserve tank then add a manual on/off valve on tubing before my DI unit so when I need water for my reef i can just shut off the valve for the reserve tank and on for the DI unit valve to get my water. Would it work that way?

not the best drawing but idea is there in green with the line going to DI unit and on/off valve

Is the pieces on top of the membrane a polishing device or a 2nd smaller membrane?

I would put the "T" inbetween B and the faucet....then add the DI...that way the water has a chance to run through all the membranes and the DI before going to the tank...

does that make sense?

just found out that it does go through the membranes before the storage, the blue "b" line is from storge to faucet is another stage is a polish carbon filter for taste and odor.

You want to tee after the membrane. There needs to be a check valve so that water from the pressure vessel does not go through the DI.

There is no need to turn off the storage tank with a valve just make sure the check valve is right. (you probably already have a check valve)

+1 on check valve.
