I have a frag of 3 heads of candy cane coral, is there anything important they need aside from the basics? thanks

Not really. There a pretty undemanding coral. Low to med light. Low to med flow. You can feed them if you like, but it's not really neccessary IMO. Lighting is most important.

as stated above, personally i recommend target feeding since it will enchance growth... I feed mine once a week or so with some type of meaty food and since doing so I feed all of my LPS and ricordeas

Pretty easy, Feeding does speed growth right along.

yes feeding helps out but not a mush. when the lights are off sometimes you can see tentacles and you can feed it mysis or cycloped something small bits.
