Setting up a 2nd tank teed off my main system for my wife, who wants to make it pipefish dominated.

I have a banded in my big reef which does well with a ton of flow. The tank is drilled for a closed loop and I've got a Super Dart available. I'm considering just running this as is without an oceans motion versus running an oceans motion.

The current plan for livestock will include a dragon face pipefish and a blue stripe pipefish. Too much flow?

Certainly not too much flow for blue stripes IMO. I have a pair in a full blown reef tank and they have no problem at all with the flow.
I can't comment on the dragon faces.

Cool, that does help. I think the dragon faces actually do even better with flow.

you could always use a valve just before the inflow to the PF tank and dial the flow back if it gets to be too much.
