OK, I have been scouring the internet looking for a 120g 48x24x24 and so far the only site I have come by is glass cages. It is 50/50 on reviews about a tank coming scratched and poor customer service, however this has not been confirmed really other then here say. Has anyone ordered from this comapny personally and what was your experence like?

I had a 40 gallon cube from them. Cost was cheap but the seams were sloppy. If you are set on that size, you can't beat the Oceanic Tech 120. That is what I have and have yet to see a better 4' x 2' footprint tank.

I've ordered about 50 tanks from them for various installs. Ranging from 40 gallons to 300 gallons.

I have zero complaints. A fellow club member had 2 600 gallon tanks built by them with zero complaints.

I will say, its been about 3 years since my last order from them.

Thank you all for the feedback, I started on Reef Central and I place my trust with Reef Central :)

You could also look at great lakes aquariums. I ordered a 48x30x26 from them last fall and am very pleased with it

I agree, this is an amazing tank by Oceanic. Starphire front glass, drilled and eurobraced. The 120 comes in black, cherry, and I wasn't even aware but apparently stainless steel. :eek2:

All that said, I assume you're looking for rimless or something, as the 4x2x2 120g is an otherwise very popular and available size.

I like rimmed better, just not a fan of rimless. Anyone have a price tag on the Tech 120?

/sigh just called 3 pet stores all only carry a top fin 120 with just glass that only leaves me 2 more stores but they don't open for another hour.

I believe the Oceanic Tech series has been out of production for about 3 years

Yep, the only way to find that tank is to find it used.

Are you kidding me? Wow that's a big disappointment. My apologies for the misinformation.

My disappointment stems from the lack of selection of LPS's I still have a few to check and I'm almost 80% sure one of the stores that open at 10am will have something in stock reef ready.

Sounds like you made up your mind, but to reassure you I've ordered dozens and dozens of tanks from them when I lived in Florida and bred reptiles. Their ability to accomodate arboreal or terrestrial reptiles with custom cage sizes and dimensions was great. Never had a problem.

If you want quality and something that will last go with A.G.E. I've researched this topic for months and it will be my choice when I do a 96X36X30 DT.

I had a 180 oceanic, sitting on an oceanic stand, bust a seam. Was a three year old tank. No tank is perfect.

Have known quite a few people with large tanks from glasscages that are decently happy with them. They are a budget tank. It aint perfect but we all cant afford to drive a bmw. :)

Just an fyi, glasscages does not use tempered glass on the bottoms of their tanks the way many other manufacturers do... at least they didn't 5 years ago when I ordered a 135g from them. The bottom pane is not elevated on a rim, and its entire surface must come in contact with the top of the stand. Nothing wrong with this design and I believe other aquarium manufactureres do this as well, but just something to be aware of... especially if your building your own stand. Speaking of which, this is where my experience with GC took a down turn. The tank itself was "ok". The silicone was sloppy, the bottom plastic trim fell off while we were carrying the tank into the house, and I did not care for the thick eurobracing at the top of the tank which would likely block some light. My problem occured when 2 weeks after placing the tank on my home-made stand the bottom pane cracked down the center. GC clearly states that they cannot warranty a tank that is placed on any surface other than their own stands. I'll admit that I'm no carpenter, BUT I now have a 220g Aqueon tank on the same exact stand with no problems. I believe it's the style of tank that makes the differenece. The aqueon tank has a tempered bottom pane that is far stronger than regular plate glass. It's elevated off the stand's top on a plastic rim. I think this type of construction allows for more irregularities in the stand resulting in a stronger tank. After shop-vaccing 135 gallons of water out of the carpet I decided I would be going with a tempered bottom tank and have not been disappointed with my decision yet.

Call Planet Aquariums in Dallas Tx. I picked up 9 tanks from them in December and they all looked great. I got a 227 gallon built and it is the best looking tank I have ever seen. PVC bottom bean animal overflow.
