Hi,

I have a 120 mixed reef. I use kalk with vinegar in my top off to maintain Ca at 450 and dKh 9.2. I have never monitored Mg levels, is this something that is a necessity? I use Reef Crystals and change about 20% per month. Coral growth is ok overall.

Thanks in advance...

I'd check it once a month or so . The limewater won't add any . Salt mix might give you enough .

I agree with tmz.. I would start to monitor it. adjust it ( 1300-1400) then watch it to figure out your consumption . Personally I feel mag.alk and cal are the most important to keep and eye on and keep in check. you get them in line and your growth and color will be surprising . not just Ok .
