I just installed my new 260g tank. All plumbing is 1.5 inch pvc or spa-flex.I'm going to run an Iwaki 100RLT for my return pump, located in my basement fish room; tank is on the main floor. I may T off it to run a few reactors, but generally I could get up to 1500gph flow through it (assumes 20 ft of head pressure), although that seems to be a ridiculously high flowrate through my sump.

The biggest loc-line I've found is 3/4 inch, which means that I would need 4x of the 3/4 inch loc-lines to give me the same cross sectional area as the single 1.5 inch pvc.

I was also considering normal pvc elbows and possibly some flow accelerators for the return into the tank.

My sump is a 100g Rubbermaid stock tank in the basement.

1. Am I insane to think about running 1500 gph through my sump?
2. Is 4x of the 3/4 inch loc-line the best way to handle the return?
