Should their be any material between my tank and stand? The tank is 75g and I didn't know if it would be beneficial to put a foamy type of substance between the two so that good contact is made all the way around. I don't know if that makes sense, but I hope it does.

I bought these used and I just don't want there to be any stress on the glass when it's full of everything.

Thanks
Lucky

Plastic trim or frame on the base of the aquarium does not need foam. No frame or trim, foam is needed.

I think some people do foam on all setups, but I do not as all my tanks have plastic frames supporting the bottom and top. I have not experienced any problems with this technique.

Insure the tank is level once placed on your stand. Good idea to recheck after you get some water and weight/load in the tank as well.

Do you have a metal frame or a wood stand?

I put a cork sheet (found at a hardware store) between my stand (wood) and tank.

+1 on the cork but not a necessity.

I have a 180g tank with no frame, so I used a rubber yoga mat (waterproof) under it.

1/2" pink foam board under mine. No frame or trim.

Thank tank has a plastic boarder around the top and bottom so I'm guessing thats the trim everyone's talking about. It's sitting on a wooden stand. A yoga mat seems like a great idea.

I use the thicker, wider weather stripping on my framed tank, works beautifully.
