A local guy is selling his diy led kit. I have a 150 gallon tall tank its 48 wide and 32 deep just wondering if this would work before i purchase

There is a gentleman near my old home town that has a real nice diy led kit its completely put together but I am concerned as far as lighting depth

Here are the build details.

Build details:

Rapid LED 's 48 LED dimmable ultra premium kit with a few extra leds purchased seperately. (2) Arrays consisting of (26) LED 's each. Each array has (13) Cree XR-E Royal Blue, (11) Cree XP-G Cool White, (1) Cree XP-E Blue, and (1) Cree XR-E Warm White. Total of (52) Cree LED 's.

Heat Sinks - (2)X 7-3/8"x 12" from Heat Sinks USA.
Frame - 1-1/2"x 1-1/2" x 1/16" Alum angle from Lowe's.
Lenses - All are 60 and 65 degree optics.
Wire - 24AWG 600V PVC jacket tinned wire (black & yellow)
LED Mounting Screws - 4-40 x 3/8" S.S. from McMaster Carr with plastic washers from there also.
Thermal Paste - from Rapid LED 's. Used under each star.
Fans - Vantec Stealth series, 60mm. Bought from Rapid LED 's.
LED Drivers - (4)X Meanwell ELN-60-48D.
Fuseholders - In-line type from Radio Shack.
Fuses - (4)X 1.5 Amp fast blow glass cartridge from Radio Shack.
Light Hanging Kit bought from Rapid LED 's.



It will sit aprox 9 inches off the top of the water.

IMO, you will need almost double the LED's for your tank. Im running 52 LED's in my 90g, and its just sufficient.

Any more opinions he is stating he currently has 3 radions and this fixture puts out more light?
