My grandson linked my laptop to RC, hoping to make it easier for me to do pics. We tried to download pic and get a response" download invalid". He emailed a staff member last week for help, no reply yet. The couple pics I downloaded via photobucket go thru. Has anyone tried this route of going direct? Does it need a go between to work? It is starting to get frustrating on part. Icycoral has tried to show me but I was not a good student at the time. Thanks

I think photobucket is the easiest way, but definitely not the only way. I have never tried to link my computer to rc mostly because I do most of my posting through my phone with the photobucket app.

hmm ok so you want to upload pics to the RC server? if thats the case there is a max upload file size of 102.4 KB as well as picture size of 800X800 in the JPEG format. so you have to make sure you resize your picture before you try to attach it.
once it is sized correctly and you create a post or if you are replying to a post do the following:
Click the Go Advance at the bottom instead of typing in your reply in the box below.
type in your message, and then click on manage attachments..... here you browse your computer for your pictures that are 102.4kb max and 800X800 max in resolution. Please also keep in mind that the max i am giving you is for RC supporting members so it may be even smaller max than what i am listing.
I hope that makes sense?
If you go with Photobucket....
Loging, click upload photos, browse select which ever photos you want and it will resize them for you. once they are uploaded click the URL version of the links it gives you and it should automatically copy it to your clipboard, now click on your RC tab(assuming your using IE7 or better? maybe firefox, chrome....) and just paste....
I hope that makes sense? if not i can find a video or make one for you? no problem :)

I just went the photobucket route and I am convinced its way better then attaching files on RC, you don't lose quality.

I've tried it both ways but think the photobucket route is easier and yields better results. You just need to do it a few times to get the routine down. Give me a call we'll setup a picture party.

Photobucket is definity the best route for pics imo, but for video photobucket sucks. It seem to cut the resution in half and makes the video super grainy. So I say photobucket for pics and youtube for video.

 but soda. I finally :deadhorse:got to upload to photo and our album site last nite. When I tried to upload an avatar that's when the response is "file failed". the pic is probably too big. George, hubby, said he can get a smaller size. now I need to get pics into a thread.
I would be greatly in debt to you if you could. (I'll cook).
Thanks to all for giving pointers and help. When you do not use a technology getting the grasp of it is sometimes daunting. I usually make it more difficult than needed.

I was saying if you had a droid or i phone you can download snapbucket app and when you take a pic it automatically downloads it to your photobucket . I dont mean to confuse you even more .

You can do the auto upload from the photobucket app too. It works great, just dont take any inappropriate pics, lol.

When you are on photobucket and you click on your pics you should see 4 codes. What you do is click on the bottom code (it says img code). When you click on the code it should say "copied". Now all you have to do is to go back to the forum and wherever you want to post the pic all you do is to right click on the mouse and hit the "paste" button. When you hit paste you should see the code that you copied from photobucket. Then all you have to do is hit the post button and you have a brand new posted pic. Its a long explanation but is pretty simple to do once you get the hang of it. Good luck

Hope Melissa's feeling ok
Her back finally started to feel a bit better just in time for her to come down with some sort of stomach flu. So for the next few days I will be avoiding her like the plague, lol
