Are there any Saltwater fish stores in the springfield area? I know about Aqua Dreams and go there once and a while. I know dave's has a small saltwater fish section in agawam. Are there any others in the area and if there are how are they?

There is School of Fish in Springfield. Thats where I go for salt - great prices. Also good selection of frozen food. There is also Emmons in Granby, Ct (about 1/2 hour away), these guys have been around a long time. Not a huge salt section but always some cool fish. This is where I get all my outdoor pond stuff - great place for that.

Fish Frenzy in ludlow (? I think thats where he moved) Cluttered store... kind of scary to be honest... but supposedly you get amazing deals on stuff there, and you can haggle with the guy too. Just make sure you quarantine anything you get from there.

Is school of fish on page boulevard? Was it called something different before? Do they only have fish or do they carry corals to?

+1 on everything Zalman said, all his frozen food is 2 for $7. I get all my dry goods and frozen food from him.

At one time he had two store one in Indian Orchard & one in Ludlow. The one in Indian Orchard closed, the only one open ATM is in Ludlow.

Aqua dreams- agawam- decent coral selection. Fish selection has sucked the last few times I've been in there. There is only 1 person I will deal with there. If he isn't working, I walk out.

Emmons -granby ct- awesome fish selection. Nice guys and good pricing. Coral isn't their focus.

School of fish -Springfield- best prices you will ever see anywhere on salt. Dave is a nice guy and always seems to have a decent collection of fish and coral. His family has been in the business a long time!

Fish frenzy- ludlow- only been there a few times. Not the cleanest store but decent collection.

Think I will have to check out School of fish and Fish frenzy sometime soon. Been going to Aqua dreams because thats the only place I knew of. Not saying anything bad about them but good to know there are other options in the area.

Ive been to these 3 a LOT lately. Fish F in ludlow has the best prices by far; not a lot of fish but coral prices and dry goods are MUCH lower. They have a new guy working there part time so the tanks r MUCH cleaner now. Aqua dreams has some nice corals(more lps then sps) but their prices r the highest I have seen any where. I wait for their sales when I can. They did 50% off a while ago on coral which made their prices worth it. Tropical fish gets some nice fish and their "hook" to get u in there is their great salt prices. I don't know what happend to their frag tanks but they r look pretty sickly lately imo.

Yeah, only place Ive really been to since I started 3-4 years ago is aquadreams or petco. Dont have many corals because Ive always thought they were kinda pricey at aquadreams. having the card there helps somewhat I guess.

Mostly looking to add some more coral to my tank. I already have all the fish I need for my tank and have not lost a fish in a while. Think im going to check the place in ludlow out first. Anyone know that address of it?

Well finally got a round to checking out another store. Went to School of Fish for the first time today. Had some decent prices on the stuff I picked up. People working were and friendly kinda helpful . I will be going back again.
Was cheaper then Aquadreams, setup a lot different. Will be still going to Aquadreams though, seems there coral selection is nicer but also more pricey.

Now I have to get to Ludlow to check out that other store you guys have mentioned.

Fish Frenzy Ludlow
Parker St to the ludlow bridge after the bridge take right go to the set of light youll see a fork take the left side of fork its on the right side near the purple onion (purple something)

I like Fish frenzy. Ed is great. In the beginning when I started 4 years ago with my tanks he gave me the most beneficial advice out of any store. I dont think the store has ever been dirty here at the old location or new. At one time cluttered but that is because Ed is alone and works all the time there. 1 person can only do so much. Now he has help.
They have system tanks but most are large and small individual. For the small ones he has macro in the tank as an addition to filtration which is what I use also in my small tanks. Maybe that is what was meant by dirty. I think people are used to empty tanks with fish to look pristine but in actuality that is not realistic and the store that have them just turn over the fish too fast. In my opinion.
I have bought fish sea horses and corals. Not problem with anything except a casualty that was my fault in acclimation.. Anyone should ask how long they ve had the stock if your smart. Ed will tell you upfront if you ask. Sometimes he wouldn't sell me some fish because he had just gotten them in and wanted to watch them first. He sold me as a regular that day. Hes more interested in his product than a sale.
Quarantine is not an issue except to QT any fish no matter where is the rule. Ed would not sell anything that has problems. He is a very honest guy. His new employee (sorry forgot your name) will be representing FF and some of his own stuff too at the FFM. Make sure to check them out next week! and of course my table too :) Toni

If you don't go to Krystal Clear Aquatics in Auburn MA you are missing out. In CT I love puppy center, in MA it's Krystal Clear. They are hands down my favorite fish store. A little expensive but a huge stock and a great trip. Don't miss out.

I went to fish frenzy today and both Ed and Brian? Were awesome picked up some great frags and some red sea supplements. Prices were good especially for the frags. Store is cluttered but all the live stock and coral look healthy and I had no problem purchasing with confidence . I will be going back .
