Hey,

My RODI unit is supposed to arrive in the next few days, I got the Spectrapure Refurbished. I am on city water right now, do I have to use a dechlorinator for the product water, or is that filtered out by the RODI?

Your RO system will have a pre filter that takes out larger sediment and then a charcoal filter that will deal with clorine and some other chemicals before the water gets to the RO membrane. You want to keep that charcoal filter replaced regularly because if clorine gets past it to the RO membrane, the membrane gets damaged (and it's the expensive part). That should clean the water 95% or better and then the DI will finish the job off. Water from your RO/DI put in a clean glass (rinsed in RO/DI water) should have zero tds (or very close to it).
