Has any verdict been made on the Real Reef manmade live rock? Anyone using it? I have a JBJ 28cf on the Fedex truck today and looking to get it going. Just wondering if the stuff was any good.

I haven't used it but my LFS has an established display tank with it and it looks very nice. Seems to host CA pretty well.

I have not had any experience with Real Reef Live Rock. However, I do have aquaculture live rock in my tank. It is rock that was put in the gulf coast off Florida, left to obtain life and then pulled for sale. You can find the rock at Live Rock N Reef, Tampa Bay Saltwater and Gulf Live Rock.
Live Rock N Reef has a video I made of me unboxing my live rock.
However, this rock as any reef rock can come with good and bad hitchhikers.

I may just go ahead and get a batch of it for my JBJ tank and see what happens. I noticed it says it weights less than typical LR which in my mind would think since you pay by the pound for LR,you would get more coverage with the Real Reef. Not exactly sure what the ratio is, but one extra piece for the same price is one extra piece. ;)

I have a 92 gallon corner with about 100 lbs of it. I love it !! great rock and the best shape/color. Go for it if you can afford it, i have no regrets. Only downside is the price though, but like i said....

I bought some of this from my LFS for my nano. I think once it is covered in real coraline it will look good. But at first it just looks painted imo.

Maybe I'll take a drive and see if any of the distant LFS have any so I can see what I'm getting.

Dr. Mac at Pacific East Aquaculture is selling it and has a brief write-up with his thoughts as well as a Real Reef video on the website's "video vault". Looks pretty good to me and I think he has a good reputation in the reefing community.

I'm seriously considering going this route with my next set-up.
